The Busch School of Business' HR Speaker Series is proud to partner with The Catholic Benefits Association and present "Protected for Purpose: How Catholic Employers Align Benefits, HR, and Governance with their Mission."
The first session of this two-part series is on September 24. Jason Coon will give a presentation entitled, "Health Plans Are Not Neutral: The Hidden Ministry of Employment Benefits."
By the end of this session participants will:
•Understand how religious liberty protections create the opportunity—not merely the permission—to build benefit programs that faithfully reflect Catholic teaching.
• Recognize that employee benefits are one of the largest expressions of an organization's understanding of marriage, family, human dignity, and the purpose of healthcare.
• Identify practical governance strategies for aligning health plans and benefit programs with Catholic mission while supporting employees and their families to flourish.
Speaker Bio
Jason Coon is Senior Vice President of Health Benefits Consultative Services for the Catholic Benefits Association and a national leader in Catholic health plan stewardship. With more than 25 years in healthcare, he helps Catholic employers align their employee benefits with the mission and teachings of the Church, moving beyond compliance toward intentional stewardship rooted in the dignity of the human person.
Jason serves on the boards of Presidio Healthcare and The Guiding Star Project and on the advisory boards of MyCatholicDoctor and the Catholic Health Care Leadership Alliance. A frequent speaker and advisor, he is helping advance Catholic Benefit Stewardship—the conviction that the benefits Catholic institutions provide should faithfully reflect the mission they proclaim.
Jason holds a bachelor's degree in healthcare administration from Charter Oak State College. He and his wife live in Colorado and are blessed with a growing family of two daughters, their husbands, and four grandsons.
