Support the Robert J. Talbot Athletics Endowment
For decades, Bob Talbot gave himself to The Catholic University of America. He first came to campus as a student-athlete and became one of the best in school history, a record-setting basketball scorer and baseball pitcher. He then served the university in almost every role it asked of him: head baseball coach, dean of admissions and financial aid, and director of athletics. Through all of it, Bob's focus never changed. He cared about the students, believed in what makes Catholic University special, and was committed to making sure every Cardinal had the chance to grow in the classroom, in competition and character.
The Robert J. Talbot Endowment will carry that commitment forward. This fund will advance the mission of the Department of Athletics and Recreation and enhance the student-athlete experience in perpetuity. It will provide flexible resources to meet the department's greatest needs and to seize new opportunities as they arise. Every generation of Cardinal student-athletes will benefit from Bob's legacy of service, and the Talbot name will stay tied to the university he loved. Thank you for your support.
The Robert J. Talbot Athletics Endowment will be established once the University receives donations totaling $100,000 for that purpose. If the University does not receive $100,000 by July 31, 2030, all gifts made for the Robert J. Talbot Athletics Endowment will become wholly available for expenditure in support of the mission of the Department of Athletics and Recreation or be added to an existing endowment with that purpose.
